Part man, part fish, this print was inspired by a weird and wonderful old man walking around the streets of Shibuya, Tokyo. It was as if he walked straight out of a strange comic book, posing for several shots, I was amazed to find out the goldfish were actually real.

THE MANY FACES OF A MAIKO

The inspiration behind this graphic for this Tshirt and print was apon a visit to Gion in Kyoto, Japan. Capturing this beautiful Maiko (apprentice Geisha) in 5 separate poses in representation of the years training and the different skills that they dedicate to becoming a Geisha. Currently in 3 colourways, its a glimpse into the beautiful traditional Japan.

TOKYO 13 WARRIORS RUGBY LEAGUE

The Japanese Rugby League approached me to rebrand the identity for the Tokyo 13 Warriors Rugby League Football Club. New identity, team uniforms and merchandise were created as part of the rebranding for the 2011 season.

A BEAUTIFUL VIEW

The inspiration behind this print is based on the most beautiful place I have ever been lucky enough to travel to. Huangshan (Yellow Mountains) in China. Huangshan is a frequent subject of traditional chinese painting and here I have honoured that style. The most spectacular mountains with a ‘sea of clouds’ it makes for a serene, calm and beautiful view.

SEARCHING FOR HEAVEN

This panographic print is made of The Temple of Heaven, Beijing, China. It is seen as the most holy of Beijing’s imperial temples and has been described as “a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design”. The Temple of Heaven was where the emperor came every winter solstice to worship heaven and to solemnly pray for a good harvest, and here in my print I have a lone tourist soaking up the moment. The print is made at 60x60cm.

ENOSHIMA ISLAND

Part panoramic photo, part fantasy, this is a panographic print of Enoshima Island, Japan. Part of the city of Fujisawa, the small island is entirety is dedicated to the goddess Benzaiten, who is enshrined on the island. The print is made at 60x60cm.

NITTY GRITTY TOKYO

I created a series of HDR photos from around Tokyo. I wanted to capture the lesser known buildings and not the standard things that one would associate or search for in this amazing city.

I wanted to show that Tokyo is more than the shiny mcshine, glossy, slick machine that we all know, but a whole lot more nittier and grittier.
